FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Your Questions, Answered
How it works
How does it work?
It starts with a 20-minute call. If we're a fit, we have one longer conversation about how you drive and what matters to you. I come back with a clear recommendation. Once you approve it, I handle the sourcing, negotiation, trade-in, paperwork, and delivery. Your part takes about two hours.
How long does it take?
Most purchases take two to four weeks from our first conversation to delivery. Ordered or hard-to-find vehicles can take longer, and I'll tell you what to expect before we start.
Can you help with financing?
I'm not a lender and don't arrange loans. I'll review the dealer's financing offer, help you understand the terms, and compare it to what your own bank offers. You make the call.
Do you only work in the Twin Cities?
I'm based in Eden Prairie and work with clients across the Twin Cities. The car itself can come from anywhere. If the right one is out of state, I'll arrange transport.
Do you help with leasing?
Yes. Whether buying or leasing makes more sense depends on how you drive and how long you keep your cars. I'll help you decide, then negotiate whichever fits, including your current lease return.
What happens with my current car?
I'll compare your options, like a trade-in, an instant offer, or a private sale, and tell you which makes the most sense. A trade-in is included.
Why work with me
I already have a salesperson I like. Why would I need you?
You may not, and a good dealer relationship is worth keeping. But your salesperson is paid by the dealer to sell that dealer's cars. I'm paid only by you, so my recommendation can come from anywhere, including telling you to wait. I'm happy to work with your dealer if they have the right car.
How do you get paid?
A flat fee, paid only by you. It's the same no matter which car you choose, where you buy it, or what you pay. That way my advice has one job: getting you the right car on the right terms.
How much does it cost?
Private Client is $4,500, flat, for vehicles typically $75,000 and up. It's $1,500 to start, credited toward the full fee, and the rest when the car is in your driveway. Buying something less expensive? Let's talk anyway. I have lighter options that may fit better.
Will you save me money?
I won't promise a specific number, because every deal is different. What I will promise is a fair deal you can feel confident about, and that you'll see every offer I receive. For busy people, the bigger return is the time they get back.
What's your background?
I'm Jason McBeth, founder of Driven Decision, based in Eden Prairie. I've spent my career in sales and account management working with executives, and I hold an accounting degree, so I look at every deal line by line.
What if...
What if I don't like your recommendation?
Tell me why. A recommendation is a starting point, not a verdict. Your reaction tells me what matters to you, and I'll refine it until it's right.
What if I decide not to move forward?
That's fine. Your first $1,500 covers our conversation and my recommendation, and the recommendation is yours to keep. If you do move forward, it's credited toward the full fee.
What if I've already found the car?
A deal review is $750. Send me the offer, and within 48 hours I'll tell you whether it's a good deal and what to push on. If you'd like me to take it from there, the review is credited toward Private Client.
What if something goes wrong after I buy?
Warranty and service issues go through the dealer and manufacturer. For the first 30 days after delivery, I'm a call away to help you get to the right person and make sure it gets handled.
Can my assistant or spouse be involved?
Of course. If you'd like, I'll coordinate with your assistant on scheduling and logistics. You stay in charge of the decision, and they handle the details with me.
Will my information stay private?
Yes. I never share or sell your information. Dealers get only what's needed to complete the purchase, and only when you're ready.
